Before using OVR Overlay Translator, please ensure your system meets the following requirements.
Hardware Requirements
VR Devices
Supports the following VR headsets:
- HTC Vive series
- Oculus series
- Valve Index
- PICO series
- Other SteamVR-supported devices
Controllers
Requires VR controller for operation.
Microphone and Audio Devices (Voice Translation Feature)
When using "Voice Translation", you need:
- A working microphone (to capture your own voice)
- An audio device that supports system audio loopback capture (to capture the voices of others in games / voice calls)

Hardware Requirements for Voice Features
Voice translation uses local AI models for speech recognition and translation, all running on your machine:
- Speech recognition model: Selecting "Fast (0.6B)" requires about 2.5 GB of available memory; "High-Precision (1.7B)" requires about 3 GB of available memory.
- Local translation model (Hy-MT2): The model is additionally loaded when local translation is enabled, so please reserve enough available memory.
- Speech recognition runs on CPU inference; the number of inference cores can be adjusted in settings (default 4). More cores improve speed but consume more computing resources.
