Wrist Display Feature

OVR Overlay Translator provides a powerful "Wrist Display" feature that allows you to pin any translation result image directly to your wrist, achieving a "watch-like" effect where you can see translations just by lifting your wrist. This approach doesn't obstruct your main field of view while meeting the needs of frequently reviewing dialogues or task descriptions.

Usage Guide

Placing Translation Results on Wrist

  1. Complete a normal screenshot translation, ensuring the translation result is displayed in VR space.
  2. Bring your operating controller (e.g., right controller) close to the wrist where you want to place the image (e.g., left wrist), keeping the distance less than 0.3 meters.
  3. Press the grip button on the operating controller. The current translation result will shrink and follow the controller (entering preview mode).
  4. Move the operating controller to position the image at a suitable display location on your left wrist.
  5. Adjust size: Push the joystick to freely scale the image.
    • Push joystick up: Enlarge the image.
    • Push joystick down: Shrink the image.
  6. Press the trigger button on the operating controller, and the image will be officially pinned to the target wrist. After that, you can view the translation anytime by lifting the corresponding wrist.

Adjusting or Replacing Bound Images

If a translation result is already bound to a wrist, you can easily adjust or replace it:

  • Replace with new translation: After completing a new translation, repeat the "placing translation result" steps. When you press the grip button, the new translation will automatically replace the old content on the wrist.
  • Re-adjust position or size:
    1. Bring the operating controller close to the translation image on the wrist (distance < 0.3 meters).
    2. Aim the front of the controller (ray direction) at the image.
    3. Hold down the grip button, and the image will return to follow the controller. You can now use the joystick to scale or reposition it.
    4. Press the trigger button to re-pin. If you just want to cancel the adjustment, simply release the grip button to restore the original position.

Deleting Translation Images

  1. Follow the steps above, hold down the grip button to let the image return to controller-follow mode.
  2. Pull the operating controller away so that the distance between the controller and wrist is greater than 0.4 meters. The image will become transparent/hidden.
  3. Release the grip button while in the hidden state, and the translation image will be completely deleted.

Feature Characteristics

  • Independent dual-hand display: Left and right wrists can have different translation images pinned independently without interference.
  • Persistent display: Once bound, images will remain displayed unless manually deleted by pulling away or replaced with a new translation, convenient for long reading and comparison.
  • Smart resource management: Automatically hides when not in use to optimize field of view, and the system automatically monitors the latest translation results to avoid placing duplicate images.
